American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Behavioral Health/Dual Psych unit in Alabama. Requires at least 1 year of RN experience and Cerner EMR proficiency. On-site position with 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week on a 4-week cycle, and weekend rotation.

Must reside outside a 60-mile radius and hold an AL license with BLS and CPI/MAB/Secure certifications. Unit includes MHTs, unit clerk, and Psych NP support; orientation is provided, and travel benefits include housing allowance and

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with dual diagnoses of addiction and mental health conditions.
• Work on an 18-bed Dual Psych unit with day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) shifts, 36 hours weekly on a 4-week cycle.
• Perform and document care using Cerner EMR and Omnicell system.
• Float to related psych units as needed, including Adolescent and Adult Psych.
• Complete orientation: 24 hours classroom and 36 hours on-unit.
• Support staffing with 1:6-8 day ratio and 1:8-10 night ratio.

Responsibilities

• 18-bed Dual Psych unit serving adults ages 19-55 with co-occurring addiction and mental health diagnoses
• Day shift ratio of 1:6-8 and night shift ratio of 1:8-10
• 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 36 hours per week on a 4-week schedule cycle
• Weekend rotation of every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month if on block schedule
• Floating required to like psych units, including Adolescent Psych and Adult Psych
• Uses Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Unit supported by MHTs, unit clerk (days), charge nurse, phlebotomy, and a Psych NP on days
• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with dual diagnoses of addiction and mental health conditions
• New hires or those with less than 1 year experience complete 24 hours of classroom orientation and 36 hours on-unit orientation
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per policy
• Scrub color for RNs is any color
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Previous permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• Travelers are allowed to pick up overtime shifts
• On-site parking available
