Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse for a Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit in a hospital setting.

Active AZ or compact RN license, BLS, CPI/HWC, ADN, and at least 1 year of psych experience are required; pass a background check. Shifts are 12 hours (7:00 AM–7:30 PM); every other weekend; you may float between floors. Documentation in WellSky EHR and travel-rate eligibility apply.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• CPI/HWC certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with psych experience preferred.
• ADN with active RN license required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health inpatient unit in a hospital setting with 106 beds.
• Adult patient population including level 1, voluntary, and detox admissions.
• Patient ratio of 1:14.
• Uses equipment including code cart, Pyxis, EKG, vitals machine, and glucometer.
• Documents in Wellsky EHR.
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No call requirements.
• Able to float from patient floor to admissions department.
• Provide direct patient care within a fast-paced behavioral health unit.
• Strong de-escalation skills and teamwork required.
• Scrub color must be royal blue or darker blue.
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time.
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays.
