American Traveler is seeking a Pediatrics RN for a night shift assignment in Bloomington, IN. At least 1 year of pediatric experience and a PALS certification are required to support a busy MedSurg unit.

Responsibilities include direct pediatric care, IV therapy, medication administration, and Cerner charting. Travel experience is welcome; local IN residents are not accepted for this traveler role, with generous housing and travel reimbursement benefits.

Competenze

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to start date.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric nursing experience.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy and blood product administration.
• Ability to start and maintain IVs and pediatric dosing calculations.
• Infection prevention practices and PPE knowledge.
• ACEN/CCNE nursing degree accredited by a university.
• Two supervisor references required.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Mansioni

• Provide direct patient care on the Pediatric Medical Surgical unit.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3 on night shifts.
• Work 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30 and rotate weekends as required.
• Use Cerner charting system for documentation.

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift Peds MedSurg assignment requiring at least 1 year of pediatric experience and PALS certification.

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start date
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products required
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and administering medications including anti-seizure drugs and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with respiratory care including oral/nasal suctioning and oxygen delivery systems
• Experience with infection prevention practices including isolation precautions and PPE
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Every third weekend required
• No call requirements
• No floating required outside unit scope
• Cerner charting system used
• Provide direct patient care to pediatric medical-surgical patients including feeding support, central/peripheral line care, and wound assessment
• Care for patients with conditions such as asthma, seizure disorders, and hyperbilirubinemia
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates (IN residents) are not accepted for this position
• Current or former IU Health perm/PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time requires facility approval
