American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Pediatrics RN with California licensure and at least 2 years of pediatric experience for a night shift travel assignment. The role places you primarily in the Pediatrics unit with occasional float to PICU/NICU, 3x12-hour nights 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, and patient ratios around 1:4.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Pediatric unit with float to PICU/NICU experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV maintenance.
• Knowledge of pediatric dosing and anti-seizure meds.

Responsabilités

• Primary placement in Pediatrics unit with float to PICU/NICU as needed.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM).
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Provide direct patient care across pediatric medsurg, oncology, and step-down settings.
• Holiday coverage with limited RTO per contract; local candidates within 50 miles at local rate.

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with CA licensure and 2+ years of pediatric experience for a night shift position requiring prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required


• BLS and PALS certifications required


• APHON certification preferred


• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required


• Prior travel nursing experience required


• PICU and NICU float experience preferred


• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs


• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and anti-seizure medication administration


• Competency in oxygen delivery systems and oral/nasal suctioning


• Experience with indwelling urinary catheter insertion and management


• Central line care, port management, and TPN/lipids experience preferred


• Chemotherapy administration and oncology symptom management experience preferred


• Experience with Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) and rapid response protocols

Responsibilities

• Primary placement in Pediatrics unit with floating to PICU/NICU as needed


• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)


• Patient ratio of 1:4


• Epic charting system experience required


• Provide direct patient care across pediatric medsurg, oncology, and step-down settings


• Holiday coverage required with only one holiday RTO request approved per contract


• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract


• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler


• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at local rate
