American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Pediatrics RN with at least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience and PALS certification for a day shift assignment in California. The role requires an active CA RN license, BLS and PALS, and travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities include floating across Pediatric MedSurg, General Peds, Peds Hem/Oncology, NICU, and PICU, with a 1:4 patient ratio and 3×12-hour day shifts. Epic EMR is used; on-site shifts with no on-call obligations.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Line care: central and peripheral
• Experience with TPN/lipids and emergency meds (including anti-seizure meds)
• Pediatric dosage calculations
• Lumbar puncture support and neuromuscular/seizure management preferred
• Pediatric respiratory care: BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, suctioning, oxygen, tracheostomy care
• Chemotherapy body fluids handling preferred
• Breast milk handling support
• NG tube insertion and management
• Orthopedic fracture management
• Infection control and PPE knowledge
• Wound assessment and care
• Indwelling urinary catheter and CAPD knowledge
• Renal failure management
• Insulin administration
• One professional reference in last 2 years

Responsabilités

• Work in the Pediatric MedSurg unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required (12 shifts total)
• Floating to General Peds, Peds Hem/Oncology, NICU, and PICU per census
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide general pediatric nursing care with floating across multiple units
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted at consideration; no further requests after
• First-time travelers not considered
• Previous permanent staff not eligible
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate

• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with body fluid handling post-chemotherapy preferred
• Experience supporting breastfeeding and handling breast milk preferred
• Skilled in NG tube insertion and management
• Experience managing orthopedic fractures
• Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE
• Wound assessment and care skills
• Experience with indwelling urinary catheter insertion and management, and peritoneal dialysis/CAPD

• Pre-approved time off must be submitted at the time of consideration; no additional time off requests accepted afterward
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous permanent staff members are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
