Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift assignment in Kentucky with a 3x12 or 4x12 schedule. The role requires a KY or compact RN license, BLS/PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and at least two years of pediatric med-surg experience.

Expect caring for dysrhythmia, respiratory support, feeding, IVs, and central lines, on Meditech EMR. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are offered; 75 miles residency rule applies.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric Med Surg experience.
• Experience with dysrhythmia management and interpretation.
• Care for hyperbilirubinemia and GI conditions.
• Breastfeeding support and breast milk handling.
• Feeding support including bottle, breast, and gavage.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care.
• Respiratory care including oxygen delivery and BiPAP/CPAP.

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Med Surg patient care with Dysrhythmia management and respiratory support.
• Night shift 3x12 or 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30.
• 84 hours per two-week pay period on rotating schedule.
• Every other weekend required.
• Float within scope of practice; limited scheduling on demand.
• Provide direct pediatric patient care across medical-surgical unit.
• Orientation bi-weekly.
• Must reside 75 miles from facility; local candidates not considered.
• RTO up to 7 days with notice and no changes accepted.
• Must work major or minor holidays during assignment.
• Provide references (two) within last year.

• Minimum 2 years of current Pediatric Med Surg experience required
• Experience with cardiovascular dysrhythmia management and interpretation
• Experience with hyperbilirubinemia and gastrointestinal care
• Breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk experience
• Experience with bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/implanted line care experience
• Respiratory care experience including oxygen delivery systems and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case)

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
• 84 hours per two-week pay period on a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Float required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Provide direct patient care to pediatric medical-surgical patients including dysrhythmia management, respiratory support, and feeding support
• Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Travelers who have worked one year in the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• First-time travelers are not required for this role
