American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiac ICU/PICU position in North Carolina. Active RN license (NC or compact) and PALS certification are required, with BLS also necessary.

A minimum of 1 year in nursing is required; BSN/MSN are preferred. Responsibilities include direct bedside care in PCICU/PICU, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and participation in discharge planning.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiac ICU/PICU position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and PALS certification.

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Experience caring for patients with complex medical, surgical, and psychosocial needs

Responsibilities

• Shared staffing model between the 13-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU and 20-bed PICU, located adjacent to one another
• Level I Pediatric Trauma Center serving infants to age 18
• Patient population includes medical, surgical, trauma, cardiac, oncology, transplant, burn, and neuro cases
• Unit offers ECMO and CRRT capabilities with 8 PICU beds dedicated to cardiac patients
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity
• Rotating shift schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
• 12-hour variable shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call requirements
• Flexibility to work between both PCICU and PICU units is required
• Provide direct clinical nursing care in a pediatric critical care setting using the nursing process
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Perform bedside point of care testing and participate in discharge planning
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff
• Address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
• Background check and drug screen results required prior to start, with firm documentation deadlines
