American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a PICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Ohio. Requires at least 2 years PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

BLS and PALS are required; ACLS preferred. Night shifts and travel with a generous housing allowance are part of the package. Responsibilities include float coverage to NICU, CV PICU, ED, and other units as needed, with Epic charting and pediatric critical care duties.

Qualifications

• Active OH license or Compact license required.
• Current BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience.
• Recent Level 1 trauma experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Prior travel experience preferred; close to 3 years PICU considered if newcomer to travel.
• Two professional references, at least one from supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing in the PICU of a children's hospital.
• Night shift: 3×12 hours, 19:00–07:30.
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown and MS units as needed.
• Epic charting experience required.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Floating to other units is standard.
• No permanent employment at this facility in past 2 years.
• Local candidates not accepted; 60‑mile radius restriction.
• Attendance and punctuality strictly enforced.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of recent PICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license in hand required
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required
• Recent Level 1 trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers with closer to 3 years of PICU experience will be considered
• 2 professional references required, at least one from a supervisor or manager
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, and pediatric dosage calculations preferred
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal care
• Floating to other units is a standard expectation for this facility
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the past 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius restriction applies
• Attendance and punctuality are strictly enforced, with no call/no shows treated seriously
