Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Michigan. A valid MI RN license is required (compact licenses not accepted) along with BLS and ACLS, and at least 2 years of PACU experience. PACU skills checklist within 1 year and two supervisory references are also required.

The role includes 12-hour shifts with start times between 10:00 and 11:00, possible weekends, and on-call duties. Epic EMR is used, and navy blue scrubs are required.

Qualifications

Active MI RN license required, compact license not accepted.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
2+ years of PACU experience.
PACU skills checklist current within 1 year.
2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

Responsibilities

Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of a full-service hospital with a level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Monitor and maintain respiratory and cardiac status of patients recovering from anesthesia.
12-hour day shifts with variable start times between 10a-11a to 10:30p-11:30p.
Occasional weekend coverage required.
On-call required, most likely one night per week with occasional weekend coverage.
Uses Epic EMR.
Assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services per physician-authorized plan of care.
Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, and responding to alarms.
Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with team to update care plans.
Process and follow up on physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Navy blue scrub color required.
Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel, though local travelers may only complete one assignment.
No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment.
