Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for a PACU role in a high-volume orthopedic program. Requires at least 1 year of PACU experience and an active CO or compact RN license. BLS/ACLS are required, with preferences for PT/OT instructions and bedside teaching.

The position is a 13-week assignment with day shifts (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) in a newly built, modern facility. Shared caseload is ~80% orthopedics and 20% general surgery; travel and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active CO or compact RN license is required.
• Minimum 1 year of current PACU experience is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Knowledge of PT/OT instructions for joint patients is preferred.
• Comfortable with bedside teaching is preferred.
• USSSN and date of birth are required for consideration.
• One professional reference is required (two for Florida and Missouri).
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 17-bay Pre/Post surgical PACU unit supporting 4 ORs.
• Caseload includes total joint, sports medicine, foot/ankle, podiatry, hand and nerve surgeries plus general surgery cases.
• Approximately 80% orthopedic and 20% general surgery casemix.
• Patient ratios: 1:2 in Pre-Op, 1:1 in PACU Phase 1, 2:2 in Phase 2.
• Uses stretchers, glucose monitors, vital sign monitors, and Pyxis dispensing systems.
• Charting is done in Meditech.
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Provide perianesthesia nursing care across Pre-Op and PACU phases for a primarily orthopedic population.
• Work with anesthesia team and surgeons.
• Join full-time core staff with tenure and morale.
• Collaborate with floor nurses for admissions.
• Facility is newly built and clean/modern.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius; no local candidates accepted.

• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide perianesthesia nursing care across Pre-Op and PACU phases for a primarily orthopedic surgical population
• Work alongside a dedicated anesthesia provider team and experienced surgeons
• Join a full-time core staff with years of tenure and strong team morale
