Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Michigan. Requires 2+ years in PACU and active MI license (compact license not accepted).

The role includes 12-hour day shifts 8–10a, potential on-call, benefits, and a 268-bed hospital with a level II trauma center. Must have BLS and ACLS, and PACU skills check within the last year.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required (compact license not accepted).
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• Skills checklist pertinent to PACU specialty, current within 1 year.
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Post Anesthesia Care Unit within a 268-bed full-service hospital with a level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
• Provides care for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitoring respiratory and cardiac status.
• 12-hour day shifts with a variable start time between 8-10a.
• Occasional weekend coverage preferred but not required.
• On-call coverage preferred, most likely one night per week with occasional weekend coverage.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Assess patients and provide skilled nursing services per physician-authorized plans of care.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, assist with transfers, and respond to alarms.
• Evaluate and help update treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Process and carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Navy blue scrub color required.
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested.
