Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a 13-week contract in Texas with 1 year of PACU experience and active TX or compact RN license. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS, plus a valid SSN/DOB and one professional reference. No local candidates; remote work not offered.

The role features a 10-bed PACU unit, 2:1 patient ratio, and weekday 8-hour shifts. Call 4 days weekly; travel and licensure reimbursements provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PALS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience required.
• Certifications must not expire within first 30 days of assignment start.
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration.
• One professional reference required.
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• PACU/Recovery unit within a surgical hospital.
• 10-bed unit with 8 staff members, including 1 charge nurse and 6-7 nurses per day shift.
• No night shift coverage on this unit.
• 2:1 patient ratio.
• Day surgery population with ortho, neuro, GU, ENT, and Gyn procedures.
• Uses glucometers, GE monitors, and bladder ultrasound equipment.
• Meditech EMR used.
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.
• No weekend requirements.
• Call required 4 days per week.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care within a fast-paced unit.
• Blue scrubs required.
• Team player mentality to keep up with unit pace.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered.
