Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg-Ortho RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Texas with telemetry monitoring. TX or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience are required, along with BLS and ACLS certifications.

The role features a 12-hour day schedule (7a-7p) on a rotating 36/48-hour per two-week cycle, with every-other weekend and holiday coverage. EPIC EMR experience preferred; navy scrubs required.

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license or compact (NLC) – must not have pending licenses.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required – no pending certifications.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to read telemetry strips.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry-monitored Med/Surg-Ortho unit with telemetry on 12 beds.
• Patient nurse:patient ratio 5-6:1 with PCT support 12:1.
• Primarily orthopedic patient population.
• Handle CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen patients.
• RNs must read telemetry strips; tele monitor techs assist.
• RNs not required to titrate drips.
• 12-hour day shifts 7a-7p on rotating 36/48h every two weeks.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Float to all med/tele units as needed.
• Use EPIC EMR; support from Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and Educators.
