Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Texas, requiring telemetry and Med/Surg experience with a TX or compact RN license. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required, along with 1 year of Med/Surg experience.
The role covers a 60-bed Med/Surg unit on two floors with specific patient ratios and a team including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and secretaries. Remote telemetry, IV pumps, and Alterra EMR are used. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided as part of benefits.
Qualifications
- Active TX or compact RN license required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required.
- Telemetry experience required.
Responsibilities
- Med/Surg unit with 60 beds across two floors and ~50 staff.
- Patient ratios 5:1 (4th floor) and 6:1 (5th floor) on Med/Surg.
- Staffing includes RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries.
- Procedures include abdominal surgeries, heart caths, and ortho repairs.
- Uses Alterra EMR; remote telemetry and IV pumps.
- 13-week night shift with 7P–7A hours.
- Float to Inpatient Rehab/ED/PCU as needed within scope.
- Provide direct patient care on busy Med/Surg unit.
