Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to join the Operating Room team as an RN First Assist. The role requires an AZ or Compact RN license, CFA credential, and at least 1 year of post-training experience in surgical first assist duties.

The position supports OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry, working weekdays from 0700 to 1500 with call rotations on weekends and a 6-OR, 86-bed facility. Residency distance restrictions apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AZ or Compact) currently in hand.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) credential required.
• Minimum 1 year of post-training experience as a Surgical First Assistant.
• Successful completion of a surgical First Assist training program.
• AHA certifications required.
• Ability to assist with OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry procedures.
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative Services department within a 6-OR surgical suite in an 86-bed facility.
• Supports OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry procedures.
• Standard interoperative care team with no pediatric or neonatal patients.
• Uses MedHost EHR system.
• Monday through Friday schedule, 0700-1500.
• Weekend hours limited to call only.
• Regular call rotation required alongside surgical technologists.
• Assist surgeons across multiple specialties including OB, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, and Podiatry.
• Work alongside a Director of Perioperative Services and standard surgical care team.
• Must wear facility-provided surgical attire while in procedural areas.
• Professional, pleasant demeanor expected.
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment.
