Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Texas. You must have 3+ years CVOR experience and a TX or compact RN license; BLS certification is required. Two ORs and several complex cases are included.

Schedule is days 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with possible call. Epic EMR transition to Epic Gold. Benefits include housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and non-taxed per diem. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Active state license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Nursys license verification required

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) with 2 ORs
• Handles 2-6 cases per day including CABGs, robotic CABG and lung procedures, valves, Fem Pop, TAVRs, EVARs, and other vascular cases
• Circulates all service lines, including CV and other specialties
• Day shift schedule, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
• Weekday, weekend, and possible holiday call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time
• No floating required to other departments
• Uses Epic EMR, currently transitioning to Epic Gold
• PCAs available to assist with room cleaning and supply runs
• Charge nurses present on day and evening shifts to support staffing needs
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs but is considered a plus
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
