Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room position in Illinois. The role requires 3+ years of CVOR circulating experience and prior travel nursing assignments, with an active IL RN license and Epic EMR proficiency.

Day shifts are 10 hours, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend coverage as needed and 3–4 on-call shifts monthly. The contract is 8 weeks, with on-site EKG test on Day 1 and Relias EKG test with 80% minimum.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross only).
• 3+ years CVOR circulating experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment.
• 2 professional references required, with 1 reference from most recent travel assignment.
• Date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• CVOR setting responsibilities in Cardiovascular Operating Room.
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Weekend coverage as needed.
• Floating as needed, with preference for floating to Main OR and scrubbing CVOR.
• On-call requirement of 3-4 shifts per month with a 2-hour minimum call back and 30-minute response time.
• 8-week contract length.
• Circulate cardiovascular surgical cases within the CVOR.
• Must complete a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration.
• On-site EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation; pass/fail basis; failure terminates contract.
• A study book provided in advance of Day 1 EKG test.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Returning staff must be separated from employment for 12 months before being eligible as a traveler.
• RTO for 8-week contracts limited to a maximum of 3 days.
• Must work at least 1-2 holidays during the contract.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Must reside within a 50-mile local radius.
• On-site interview with the facility required (approx. 10–15 minutes).
