Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR RN for a 13-week Level II Trauma Center assignment in Charleston, SC, with thoracic and vascular experience including heart and valve replacements.

Responsibilities include circulating RN duties in a Heart OR with 1:1 care, XI Robot usage, and Meditech documentation; schedule 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with rotating weekends and holidays, plus a 3-call shift requirement every four weeks. First-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Thoracic and vascular surgical experience required, including heart and valve replacements.
• Strong skills in cardiac procedures (CV/PV, AAA, CABG, Fem-Pop bypass, valve replacements).
• General circulating knowledge across multiple surgical specialties.
• US SSN and date of birth required; one professional reference.

Responsibilities

• Circulating RN in a 17-bed Heart OR unit with 1:1 patient ratio.
• 4:1 anesthesia coverage with in-house night shift support.
• Cases include ortho, neuro, plastics, vascular, trauma, robotic OB/GYN, urology.
• Utilizes XI Robot and advanced spine equipment; documentation in Meditech.
• Schedule 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with rotating weekends/holidays.
• Three 12-hour call shifts per 4 weeks; no floating.
• Work at Level II Trauma Center with Total Joint, Heart, Stroke, Cardiac centers.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a 13-week Level II Trauma Center assignment requiring thoracic and vascular experience including heart and valve replacements.

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Thoracic and vascular surgical experience required, including heart and valve replacements
• Strong skills in Cardiac (CV/PV), AAA, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Fem-Pop Bypass, and Mitral or Aortic Valve Replacement procedures
• General circulating knowledge including positioning, prepping, and case facilitation across multiple surgical specialties
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Circulating RN role in a 17-bed Operating Room within the Heart OR unit
• 1:1 patient ratio with 1RN/1CST staffing per room, dedicated turnover staff, and a charge RN
• 4:1 anesthesia coverage with in-house night shift support
• Cases include Ortho, Neuro, Plastics, Vascular, Trauma, Robotic OB/GYN, and Urology procedures
• Utilizes XI Robot, advanced spine equipment, and Mako joint robot
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Scheduled 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotating weekends and holidays alongside hospital staff
• Call requirement of 3 call shifts (12-hour) per 4-week period with day and night availability
• No floating required
• Facility recognized as a Level II Trauma Center with Total Joint, Heart Center, Stroke, and Cardiac Center accreditations
• Perform circulating RN duties across General, Trauma, Ortho, Urology, GYN, Neuro, Plastics, and Cardio/thoracic surgical services
• Follows AIDET patient experience standards
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
