Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week assignment in Texas, requiring open heart and vascular surgery experience and a TX or Compact RN license. Requirements include active RN license (TX or Compact), current BLS and ACLS, a minimum of 1 year CVOR experience with open heart/vascular OR work, and operating room proficiency; shift is 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.

Open Heart Surgery procedures (CABG, valve replacement, carotid endarterectomy, ECMO) are performed; on-call averaging 4–5

Qualifications

• Active TX or Compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience.
• Experience in open heart and vascular surgery.
• Operating room experience required.
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted).
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 3-room Cardiovascular Operating Room within the Open Heart Surgery unit.
• Support procedures including CABG, valve replacement, carotid endarterectomy, and ECMO.
• Use Meditech EMR; shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• On-call responsibilities average 4–5 days per month with 1 weekend per month.
• Floating required to the Main OR; maintain 1:1 patient ratios.

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
• Required experience in open heart and vascular surgery
• Required operating room experience
• Must provide US SSN and DOB for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Work in a 3-room Cardiovascular Operating Room within the Open Heart Surgery unit
• Team consists of 26 staff with a daily skill mix of 4 RNs and 4 surgical techs on day shift
• No night shift staffing on this unit
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call responsibilities average 4-5 days per month with 1 weekend per month
• Floating required to the Main OR
• Perform surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement, carotid endarterectomy, and ECMO
• Also support procedures such as angiogram, fistulagram, fistula creation, and lower extremity bypass
• Best suited for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Scrubs are provided by the unit
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
