Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position in Virginia. Requires 2+ years CVOR OR experience and Epic proficiency, with VA license (or compact) and AHA BLS/ACLS certs. On-call, travel-friendly role with comprehensive benefits and housing options.

Responsibilities include perioperative nursing care for cardiac and non-cardiac cases, 1:1 patient ratios, and potential float to related services. ECMO/Impella/Maze/IABP knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Current VA RN license or Compact required.
• Active BLS and ACLS required (AHA).
• Minimum 2 years CVOR RN experience.
• Epic EMR experience required; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Services unit handling cardiac/non-cardiac OR cases.
• 1:1 patient ratios for adult patients.
• Cardiac cases 6:15a–5:15p; non-cardiac shifts 4x10s starting 6:45a.
• Use ECMO, Impella, Maze, IABP; EMR in Epic; Workday/ShiftWizard used.

Requirements

• Active VA state RN license or Compact required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only), with CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cardiac surgery experience preferred
• No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
• US SSN required for consideration; Canadian SIN not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Surgical Services unit performing cardiac and non-cardiac OR cases
• Adult patient population with 1:1 patient ratios
• Cardiac case shift hours 6:15a-5:15p; non-cardiac case shift hours are 4x10's days starting 6:45a
• Uses specialized equipment including ECMO, Impella, Maze, and IABP
• EMR documentation in Epic (required), with Workday and ShiftWizard also used
• On-call required, 12-15 days including 1-2 weekends depending on schedule rotation
• May float to vascular, thoracic, or TACS cases when no scheduled heart cases are present
• Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiac and non-cardiac surgical cases
• Must reside outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Blue scrub color required per facility dress code policy
• On-call responsibilities may include weekends and holidays
