Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a hospital in Virginia on a travel assignment. Applicants must hold an active VA or Compact RN license and current BLS, with 2+ years of RN experience and proficiency in Cardiac and Thoracic surgery.

Shifts include 5x8 or 4x10 days with alternating weekend call; Epic EMR experience is required, and travel/licensure reimbursements plus housing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Proficiency with Cardiac and Thoracic surgery required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Charge RN experience preferred.
• Trauma Level II experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVOR unit of a hospital setting.
• Choose 5x8 (6:45-15:15) or 4x10 (6:45-17:15) day shift schedules.
• Call requirements every other week Sun-Sat, shared with one other CVOR RN.
• May assist in Main OR when no Cardiac/Thoracic cases are scheduled.
• Patient ratio of 1:1.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide CVOR nursing care including scrubbing and circulating for cardiac and thoracic procedures.
• Holiday call coverage preferred for Christmas.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered.
• RTO requests reviewed and approved on a per-case basis.
• EKG proficiency testing required with a passing score of 80% or higher, no remediation offered.
• 3 hours of billable orientation modules required, completed prior to start date.

• No prior license or background hits accepted
• Unable to accommodate PAPR; any history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy from consideration
