Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a 12-hour day shift assignment in Oregon. Requires at least 1 year of cardiac scrub experience, compact RN license, BLS, and travel experience. Position involves 1:1 patient care in CVOR, 7:00-19:00 shifts, on-call for cardiac emergencies, and monthly weekend coverage.

Local radius rules and holiday coverage apply. Epic EMR charting is used; hybrid OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required.
• Cardiac scrub experience required (hardstop).
• Epic charting experience required.
• Prior travel experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care teaching hospital.
• 1:1 patient ratios.
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00).
• On-call required for cardiac emergencies, both scrub and circulator roles.
• Weekend coverage required once per month (Sat 0600 to Mon 0600).
• No floating between units expected, though may float to sister facilities based on skill set.
• Epic EMR used for charting.
• Hybrid OR experience preferred.
• Perform scrub and circulator duties in cardiovascular surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs, and aneurysm repairs.
• Scrubs: any color accepted, OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility.
• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis, with strong preference for prior scrub experience.
• Contracts longer than 12 weeks will not be considered.
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate.
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies.
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year\'s Eve, New Year\'s Day).
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the submission process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated.

Requirements

• Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Cardiac scrub experience required (hardstop requirement)
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with procedures such as CABG, mitral valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, femoral cannulation, IABP, pericardial window, and ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD)
• Experience with electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords
• Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
