Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a cardiovascular operating room role requiring recent open heart experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

This position is a 13-week travel assignment with 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), call requirements, and Epic EMR proficiency. Candidates must meet rigorous EKG and specialty competency standards and have recent academic medical or Level 1 trauma experience in a major metro area.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or compact license
• BLS certification required
• TNCC and ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years RN experience with prior travel assignment experience
• At least 2 years of CVOR RN experience
• Recent cardiac (open heart) experience within work history
• Epic EMR experience required
• No work history gaps over 30 days without explanation
• Resume must include facility type, EMR used, and bed count
• At least one professional reference dated within the last 12 months

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room, specializing in CVOR cases
• Covers cardiac, neuro, ortho trauma, and vascular surgical cases
• Prefer candidates able to both scrub and circulate
• 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Variable scheduling with no guaranteed block scheduling
• Call required as needed, including weekends and holidays
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a basic specialty competency exam and EKG exam, including rhythm mapping and interpretation, with 80% minimum score and 100% accuracy on lethal rhythm identification
• Failure to meet EKG requirements will result in extended remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation
• Reviewing cardiac rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended
• Unit Manager interview required
• Maximum of 8 RTO days permitted for the 13-week contract
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• 50-mile radius rule applies for local rate eligibility
• Accepts local candidates
• First-time travelers not accepted due to prior travel experience requirement
