Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a teaching hospital role in Florida. Requires 2 years CVOR, ACLS, FL or Compact RN license, and prior charge nurse experience. Cerner charting experience is preferred.

Day shift 5:30 AM–2:00 PM with 1:1 patient ratios. Travel eligibility offers housing and licensure reimbursements; local candidates considered. Those residing >100 miles from the facility qualify for travel rate.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Knowledge of emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia protocols

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
• Weekend on-call required every other week
• Floating required within the assigned hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity cardiovascular surgical setting
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO is not included in the contract per facility policy; any accommodation would require verbal approval only

• Skilled in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, and TAVR
• Experience with thoracic procedures including thoracotomy and lung resection
• Experience with AVR, Mitra Clips, and pacemakers
• Knowledge of emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, and malignant hyperthermia protocols
