Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN with at least 1 year CVOR experience and comfort circulating vascular and hybrid cases for a Cardiovascular Operating Room position.

The role requires active MO license (or compact), ACLS/BLS, and preference for CNOR/PALS/RNFA. 2+ years RN experience and CVOR experience are expected, with heavy involvement in open-heart cases and Epics charting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license MO state or compact in-hand at submission
• ACLS and BLS required; CNOR, PALS, RNFA preferred
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• At least 1 year CVOR experience
• Proficiency in open-heart cases including valves and bypass
• Comfort circulating vascular and hybrid cases
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation monitoring experience
• Experience scrubbing cardiovascular, vascular, general, thoracic, ENT, gynecology, neurology, endoscopic, and bariatric surgeries preferred
• Triage skills; two professional references required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit
• Perform open-heart cases including valves and bypass procedures
• Circulate all vascular cases including carotids, Fem-Fem bypass, and Triple A repairs, including hybrid cases
• May be utilized in other case types when not assigned to CVOR
• Set up lines and drips to assist anesthesia as needed
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Epic charting system
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00-17:00)
• Rotating weekday night and weekend call required
• Call weekends include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• One weekday call day required, plus call every 4th-5th weekend
• CVOR nurses back up General Nurses on call and vice versa
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Holiday rotation coverage required
• Work every other weekend required
• RTO limited during holiday periods
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
