Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) assignment in Kentucky. The role requires an active KY or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and call coverage every other day and on weekends.

You will work in a hospital Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, with a day shift 0600-1430 and a 26-week contract. Apply to join a team dedicated to patient safety and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required per department compliance.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• No prior CVOR experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms
• Support areas include PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, offices, and scheduling
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 0600-1430
• Call required every other day and every other weekend
• 26-week contract assignment
• Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment, and care coordination throughout the surgical process
• Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Facilitate patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination with case management
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
• Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
