Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR RN for an academic medical center in Missouri. Requires 1+ year CVOR experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Responsibilities include perioperative nursing across CVOR, vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases with Epic charting, a 1:3 patient ratio, and a day shift schedule of 4x10s. Travel and trauma support are involved.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CNOR and TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience required.
• Level 1 trauma and Level 2 trauma experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Prior charge experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Vascular surgery skills preferred, including AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, and TEVAR.
• Cardiovascular surgery skills preferred, including CABG, TAVR, and VAD.
• General surgery and endoscopic procedure experience preferred.
• Experience with cell saver, electrosurgical units, and Steris equipment.
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVOR at a research and academic medical center.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM.
• Call required, approximately 14 per month, split among CV staff and including weekend call.
• Floating required to Vascular and General surgery units.
• Patient ratio of 1:3.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across CVOR, vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases.
• Support for trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds and multi-injury trauma.
• Work in a hybrid OR and general OR setting as needed.
• Fit testing for respirator masks is required, and candidates must be clean-shaven to ensure a proper seal.
• No medical or religious exemptions are accepted for fit testing requirements.
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position.
• Travelers are not eligible to work beyond 1 year at this facility without taking a 6-month break.
• First-time travelers may be considered as long as they meet the 1 year CVOR experience requirement.
