Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse to join a CVOR team in Winston-Salem. The role requires 2 years of CVOR circulating experience and current BLS certification. Active NC or compact RN license is required with licensing verifications.

Position features include a 13-week contract, 10-hour days (6:30 AM–5:00 PM), and a 10-day monthly on-call requirement. Scrub experience is preferred and travel within or near the facility is allowed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Circulate CVOR cases in a 3-OR unit serving adults and geriatrics.
• Work with PYXIS and Epic systems; SBAR communication.
• Perform valve repairs/replacements, CABG, TAVR, VATS, thoracotomy, carotid endarterectomy, robotic thoracic surgery.
• 10-hour day shifts; 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM; call 10 days per month.
• 13-week contract with potential extension; floating within/near facility.
• Orientation provided; pre-start modules completed before start.
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate.
• First-time travelers welcome; travel pairs allowed on different units.
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring 2 years of CVOR circulating experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license (pending license/certs OK for consideration)
• BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR circulating experience required
• Scrub experience preferred
• Skills in cardiovascular and vascular procedures including aortic aneurysm repair, ASD repair, CABG, IABP, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, and carotid endarterectomy required
• Cardiothoracic robotic surgery experience preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending references OK at submission)
• Current State Board of Nursing License Verification and NURSYS Verification required

Responsibilities

• CVOR unit with 3 operating rooms serving adult and geriatric patients (ages 20s to 90s)
• Uses PYXIS and Epic systems with SBAR communication
• Performs procedures including aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement, CABG with and without valve repair, TAVR, VATS, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, IABP insertion/removal, carotid endarterectomy, robotic thoracic surgery, and more
• 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Call requirement of 10 days per month, including one weekend per month
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Floating within or near the facility required
• Circulate cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases in a fast-paced CVOR environment
• 36 hours of orientation provided, with scrubs supplied by the facility
• Pre-start modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed before start and annually
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units with separate transportation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with facility approval required
