Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position with Trauma Level II experience and at least 1 year of OR nursing experience. The role requires an active CT license and BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Expect 4x10 or 5x8 schedules (6:45a–3:15p or 6:45a–5:15p) with every third weekend on call. Cerner and Omnicell are used for documentation and med management. First-time travelers are not accepted.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required.
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I experience preferred.
• Charting system experience required (any system accepted).
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with universal protocol (time out) procedures, specimen handling/labeling, and urinary catheterization.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate in OR unit within a hospital setting.
• Treat adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Work 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts; 6:45a-3:15p or 6:45a-5:15p.
• Cover weekends every third weekend; call one weekday and one weekend per month (24-hour Sat/Sun).
• Utilize Cerner for documentation and Omnicell for med management; SBAR for communication.
• Participate in diverse surgical cases including general, gynecologic, orthopedic, urologic, vascular, neuro, trauma, and robotics.
• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across specialties; scrubs provided.
• Local candidates within 75 miles may have reduced pay rate.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
