Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with CNOR and prior travel experience to support a high-volume surgical unit requiring call coverage.

The successful candidate will hold an active RN license in NM or a compact state, with BLS, and ideally ACLS and PALS. You will work 4x10 hour days, with float assignments between facilities, and participate in call coverage on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Active RN license NM or Compact; pending license accepted if obtained prior to start.
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, CNOR preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Experience across a broad range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Operate in OR unit within a hospital setting.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Float required between main facility and Heart Hospital (0.2 miles apart).
• Call 4-5 shifts per 6-week period, including weekends.
• Support various specialties including neurology, orthopedics, general, urology, ENT, podiatry, ophthalmology, and robotic surgery.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple specialties.
• Floating to units within scope with orientation provided.
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted.
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as traveler.
• No travel pairs or groups accepted.
• Limited RTO auto-approval; no RTO in first week of orientation.
