Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Operating Room RN with CT/compact license and Trauma Level II experience. Prior travel assignments and robotic surgery exposure are valued. The role supports multiple surgical specialties in a hospital setting with day shifts and a 40-hour work week.

The position includes weekend coverage every third weekend and call duties. Candidates must meet licensure, BLS, and charting system requirements, with travel experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license CT or Compact is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience.
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
• Experience with any charting system required.
• Proficiency in specimen handling/labeling and Universal Protocol.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OR department within a hospital setting.
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Work day shifts: 40 hours/week (4x10 or 5x8) from 6:45am–3:15pm or 6:45am–5:15pm.
• Weekend coverage every third weekend; call one weekday and one weekend per month.
• Use Omnicell and Cerner systems; communicate via SBAR.
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties and robotic procedures.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with CT/compact license, Trauma Level II experience, and prior travel assignment history.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Experience with any charting system required
• Proficiency in specimen handling/labeling and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience with urinary bladder catheterization

Responsibilities

• Operating Room department within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts from 6:45am to 3:15pm or 6:45am to 5:15pm, 40 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• Call required one weekday per week and one weekend per month (24-hour SAT/SUN coverage)
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Cerner documentation system
• Communication via SBAR
• Wide range of surgical specialties including general, trauma, orthopedic, neurology, gynecology, urology, robotics, bariatrics, vascular, and plastics procedures
• Experience with robotic surgery systems including Da Vinci Xi preferred
• Scrubs provided
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and subject to a reduced rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
