American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of Level I trauma OR experience and the ability to scrub across multiple surgical service lines.

Travel-friendly role with day shift patterns and on-site duties in Allentown, PA. You must hold an active PA or compact RN license, BLS and NIHSS, and be able to scrub and circulate across a wide range of specialties; robotics and vascular/core surgeries are strongly preferred.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of Level I trauma OR experience and the ability to scrub across multiple surgical service lines.

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Level I Trauma Operating Room experience required
• 4 years of Operating Room experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Must be able to scrub
• Robotic surgical experience required
• Vascular and endovascular procedure experience strongly preferred
• Trauma case experience including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds and multiple-injury MVA cases required
• General surgery experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy and thyroidectomy required
• Neuro surgery experience including cervical fusion, craniotomy and laminectomy/discectomy required
• Orthopedic experience including Ortho/Spine and scrubbing orthopedic procedures required
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber-optic light sources/cords, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol/time-out procedures and urinary bladder catheterization required
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid references and copies of certifications required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room department at a Level I Trauma Center with 24 main ORs including a dedicated trauma OR adjacent to the trauma bay
• 2 hybrid ORs used for endovascular and structural heart procedures
• Patient population spans neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric cases
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts (11:00-21:30)
• Weekend coverage required as needed based on department needs
• On-call required as needed based on department needs
• Must be able to scrub and circulate across multiple surgical service lines including General, Robotics, Trauma, Bariatric, Colorectal, Urology, Gynecology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Neuro, Orthopedics, Burns, Plastics, ENT, Dental/Maxillofacial, Ophthalmology, Thoracic, Vascular and Transplant
• Epic charting system required
• Scrub and circulate across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, oral, neurology, podiatry, cardiovascular, general, pediatric, endoscopic, robotic, ophthalmology, orthopedic, urology, ENT, bariatric, thoracic and transplant procedures
• Facility-provided scrubs
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract, and RTO must be approved prior to start date
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
