Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced OR RN for a teaching hospital assignment requiring Trauma Level I exposure and Epic charting proficiency. The role emphasizes neuro/trauma cases with a 3x12 weekend shift pattern (0630-1900) and no on-call duties.

Qualified candidates hold an active MO or compact RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience; additional credentials (ACLS, CCRN, PALS, TNCC, CNOR) are preferred. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience; Epic charting experience required.
• Trauma Level I/II experience preferred and teaching hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a teaching hospital OR unit across multiple surgical specialties.
• Care for neuro, trauma, vascular, ortho, and other surgical cases.
• Provide perioperative nursing care with a 1:1:1 patient ratio and 3x12 shifts on weekends.
• Float between OR suites; no on-call requirement; local travel not accepted.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Trauma Level I experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS required
• ACLS, CCRN, PALS, TNCC, and CNOR preferred
• 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with vascular, plastics, neurology, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, and ENT procedures preferred
• Conscious sedation monitoring skills preferred
• Scrub skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Case mix includes ortho, neuro, neuro-spine, vascular, endovascular, ENT, radical neck, urology, trauma, transplant, general surgery, plastic surgery, and Whipple procedures
• This shift is heavy on neuro and trauma cases
• Weekend option dayshift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (0630-1900), Fri/Sat/Sun
• No call required
• Float ability required between OR suites
• Patient ratio of 1:1:1
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including trauma, transplant, and complex surgical procedures
• First-time travelers with relevant experience and Level One trauma capability will be considered
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted
• Clinicians cannot work past 1 year as a traveler and must take a 6-month break before returning
