Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior OR experience.

The 22-bed unit serves multiple specialties with 36 guaranteed hours weekly, varied shifts, and on-call coverage. Comprehensive benefits, housing allowance, and travel/licensure support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA state license or compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and CPI/HWC.
• 1-2 years of RN experience required.
• Preferred experience: charge nurse responsibilities, Level 1 trauma exposure, and robotic surgery experience.
• AHA certifications required.
• Complete and clear background screenings required prior to start.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance required.
• PA fingerprinting (DHS and FBI/Dept of Aging) required, FBI prints accepted if within last two years.
• PATCH (PA State Police Clearance) required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room / Surgical Services department of a tertiary care regional referral hospital.
• 22-bed unit serving all patient ages.
• Common diagnoses/treatments include Ortho, Gyne, OB, Plastics, General, Cardiovascular, Neuro, Urology, Breast, and Podiatry.
• 1:1 patient ratios.
• Uses EPIC EHR.
• Varied day shifts including 5x8 or 4x10 schedules, with potential shift options of 9-5, 11-7, 1-9, and 3-11.
• 36 guaranteed hours per week.
• Every other weekend or as needed weekend coverage required.
• Floating as needed.
• On-call required approximately one to two times per week in 8-hour increments.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Work alongside Surgical Services leadership including the Director of Surgical Services.
• Scrubs are blue and will be provided; no casual attire permitted.
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays.
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate.
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months.
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time.
