Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts at a Level I trauma teaching hospital in Flagstaff, AZ. Requires Level I trauma OR experience and craniotomy skills.

The position features 3x12-hour nights (19:00-07:00) with 1:1 patient ratios, on-call duties, and travel-friendly terms. Cerner charting is used; scrubs and parking are provided. Open to first-time travelers and local candidates.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years OR experience required; 3 years preferred.
• Level I trauma center OR experience required; like-size or larger facility may be considered.
• Experience in general, ortho, spine, trauma, and neuro surgeries, specifically craniotomies.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical nursing care across trauma, ortho, spine, neuro, general surgery and other OR specialties.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00.
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratios.
• On-call up to 8 weekday shifts and up to 9 weekend shifts per 13 weeks with 30-minute recall.
• Weekend requirement as needed, typically every 3rd weekend.
• No floating required; use Cerner charting system.
• Scrubs provided for OR RNs; free parking available.
• Travelers welcome; local candidates accepted.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I trauma teaching hospital requiring Level I trauma OR experience and craniotomy skills.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required, 3 years preferred
• Level I trauma center OR experience required; highly skilled clinicians with recent Level II trauma experience in a like-size or larger facility may be considered
• Experience required in general, ortho, spine, trauma, and neuro surgeries, specifically craniotomies
• Comfortable floating without restrictions if required by facility needs

Responsibilities

• Level I trauma center OR with 11 rooms handling high-volume ortho, trauma, spine, and general surgical cases with minimal peds
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00
• 1:1 patient ratios
• On-call requirements of up to 8 weekday shifts and up to 9 weekend call shifts (Friday-Sunday) per 13-week period with 30-minute recall
• Weekend requirement as needed, typically every 3rd weekend
• No floating required
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Scrubs provided for OR RNs
• Free parking available
• Provide surgical nursing care across trauma, ortho, spine, neuro, general surgery, and other OR specialties
• Adhere to facility quality and patient safety standards including medication administration protocols (BCMA)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted
• RTO requests require unit manager approval
• Must be available to work 2 designated holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
• Previous facility staff must have a 12-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs accepted for this unit
