Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Trauma Level II background and Epic charting proficiency for a hospital-based surgical assignment. The position requires an active RN license, BLS, and OR experience across multiple specialties.

Night or Day shifts available for an 8-week assignment, with comprehensive orientation and travel support. Candidates should have Trauma Level II experience, Epic EMR familiarity, and skills with surgical instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and BLS required.
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
• Minimum 2 years OR experience, including trauma cases.
• Trauma Level II experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work in hospital operating room across multiple surgical specialties.
• Shift options: Night 4x12 or Day 4x12.
• Assignment length: 8 weeks.
• Support trauma, orthopedics, neurology, vascular, gynecology, and general surgery cases.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across specialties.
• Assist with emergency management protocols and code events.
• Support robotic systems where applicable (Da Vinci Xi, Mako).
• Complete facility orientation modules annually.

• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with surgical instrumentation and equipment such as electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources
• Complete 7-year work history required with no employment gaps greater than 30 days
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, from positions held within the past year
• Education details required for all degrees earned, including area of study, degree type, and institution location

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital surgical setting
• Shift options include Night (4x12, 19:00-7:30) and Day (4x12, 7:00-19:30)
• Assignment length is 8 weeks
• Supports a variety of surgical specialties including trauma, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, gynecology, and general surgery cases
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, neurology, orthopedic, general, and trauma surgery
• Assist with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
• Support use of robotic surgical systems such as the Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical System where applicable
• Complete facility orientation modules annually, with specific requirements varying by specialty
• Local candidates are not accepted, with a local radius defined as within 75 miles of the facility
• Candidates who cancel an assignment with fewer than 14 days' notice will be designated as Do Not Return (DNR)
• RTO from 10/11 through 10/17 requires the contract to be extended by one week to accommodate the time off
