Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room role in Michigan with Level II Trauma experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties. The position requires an active Michigan RN license (non-compact), BLS, and at least two years of OR nursing experience.

The role features night shifts (12-hour), no on-call duties, and a 13-week contract. Travel experience is preferred, with Epic EMR in use and hospital-provided scrubs.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN OR experience
• Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Proficiency across OR specialties: Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, Urology

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center hospital setting
• Operate OR with advanced procedures including robotic-assisted tech
• Night shift: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Use Epic EMR
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Assess patient needs and develop care plans
• Provide leadership and supervision within OR team
• Monitor sterile field and assist anesthesia
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians
• Staff development through preceptorship and CE opportunities
• Local candidates within 50-mile radius; 13-week contract
• Max 5 days RTO during assignment

• Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology required
• Recent travel work experience highly preferred
• Skills checklist current within 1 year pertinent to OR specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• LARA and/or Nysys verification of active MI license required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit performing advanced surgical procedures including robotic-assisted technology
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required

• Assess surgical patient needs and develop individualized care plans before, during, and after procedures
• Provide leadership and supervision within the OR team, coordinating schedule changes and assembling equipment and supplies
• Monitor the sterile field and assist anesthesia as needed
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary departments
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education opportunities
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered, limited to one 13-week contract
• Maximum of 5 days RTO can be requested during the assignment
