American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery, GYN, and urology experience for a 13-week assignment in Illinois. Active IL RN license and BLS are required; EPIC EMR experience preferred. ENT exposure is also needed, with assignments in a busy 28-suite surgical department.

The role involves 10-hour shifts, block scheduling, and weekly call with weekend duties. Housing assistance and travel reimbursements are provided.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in a 28-suite surgical department with 14 suites for general surgery.
• General surgery unit averages 20-40 cases per day.
• Common procedures include lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology cases.
• Works with surgical technologists in the OR; charge nurse supports cases.
• Uses EPIC OP Time EMR.
• 10-hour day shifts with schedules 7am-5:30pm or 12:30pm-11pm.
• Block-based schedule; no self-scheduling.
• Call once per week during 3:30pm-7am; 30-minute response time.
• Every-other or every-third weekend; full weekend plus call.
• Floating to other surgery teams or SPD when qualified.
• Sleep policy: if a call shifts extends past 11pm, 8 hours off from clock-out.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery, GYN, and urology experience for a 13-week assignment requiring an active IL RN license.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in general surgery, GYN, and urology required
• ENT experience also required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience in similarly sized facilities and ORs within the last 2 years preferred
• Must pass a negative drug screen for all panels

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in a 28-suite surgical department with 14 suites dedicated to general surgery
• General surgery unit averaging 20-40 cases per day
• Common procedures include lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology cases
• Works alongside surgical technologists in the OR, with charge nurse support who assists with cases
• Uses EPIC OP Time EMR
• 10-hour day shifts, scheduled either 7am-5:30pm or 12:30pm-11pm to total 36 or 40 hours per week
• Schedule is block-based with no self-scheduling
• Call required once per week with assigned call hours between 3:30pm and 7am, with a 30-minute call response time
• Weekend requirements of every other or every third weekend, including a full weekend of shift plus assigned call
• Floating required to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified
• Sleep policy in place: if a call shift extends more than 4 hours past 11pm, 8 hours off is provided from clock-out time
• Unit-specific orientation of up to one week, in addition to hospital-wide orientation
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Local rate available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
• No radius rule restricting eligibility
