American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Kansas. The ideal candidate holds a KS or Compact RN license, BLS certification, and has at least 2 years of OR nursing experience, with robot and GI experience preferred.

You will work in a Level 3 trauma hospital with 4 OR suites plus a GI endoscopy room, day shifts 06:30-15:00, with on-call evenings and weekends. Housing allowance and travel/licensure reimbursements are included.

Competenze

• Active KS or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• Robot and GI experience preferred.
• BSN not required.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.

Mansioni

• Acute care Level 3 trauma hospital setting in a 4-OR suite plus 1 GI Endoscopy room.
• Average of 10 cases per day including robotic/laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia, appendectomy, basic orthopedic, gynecological, and podiatry procedures.
• At least 1 OR tech and 1 first assist staffed for most cases.
• Scrubbing not required for RNs.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Day shift schedule: 0630-1500, Monday-Friday.
• Evening and weekend call required, with weekday call shifts 1500-0700 and weekend call shifts 0700-0700.
• Call response time of 30 minutes required.
• No floating outside the OR except in extreme circumstances, limited to Zone 4 facilities (SCG, SCD, Bob Wilson).
• Provide perioperative nursing care across general surgery, GI, ortho, gyn, and podiatry cases.
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles are available on the unit, but this position does not require covering those roles.
• Scrub color is Ceil Blue and is provided by the facility.
• Unit-specific orientation includes a competency checkoff and time working alongside staff until comfortable.
• Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely.
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered.
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.
