Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a short-term assignment at a 325-bed acute care hospital. WA licensure or compact license required; trauma Level II experience preferred.

The role includes perioperative nursing and surgical scrub across multiple specialties, with Epic charting, holiday coverage, and potential cross-facility travel. BLS/ACLS required; references and proper patient data ready for submission.

Qualifications

• Active WA license or compact license required.
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience.
• Community Hospital and Trauma Level II experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Experience scrubbing across general, ortho, urology, thoracic, trauma, ENT and pediatric surgeries preferred.
• Familiarity with OR equipment including cell saver and electrosurgical units preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control and universal protocol preferred.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years required.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care and surgical scrub support across multiple specialties.
• Operate in a 325-bed short-term acute care hospital OR unit.
• Manage blood products, wound care, and specimen labeling.
• Ensure compliance with emergency management and fire safety protocols in the OR.
• Support cross-facility travel and holiday coverage as needed.
• Floating to sister facilities may be required.

• Experience scrubbing procedures across specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, urology, thoracic, trauma, ENT, and pediatric surgery preferred
• Familiarity with OR equipment including cell saver and electrosurgical units
• Knowledge of infection control, universal protocol, specimen handling, and radiation/laser safety preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a 325-bed short-term acute care hospital
• 4x10 day shift schedule, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating between sister facilities may be required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide perioperative nursing care and surgical scrub support across a variety of specialties including general, orthopedic, urology, thoracic, ENT, trauma, and pediatric surgery
• Support emergency management and fire safety protocols within the OR
• Responsible for administration of blood and blood products, wound management, and specimen labeling
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with a Providence facility, whether as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Limited RTO requests preferred to avoid delays in offer approval
• Only one Providence facility submission allowed at a time
