Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in Louisiana. The role requires 3+ years of circulator experience and proficiency across multiple surgical specialties in a teaching hospital environment.

Active RN license (Compact or LA) and BLS are required, plus Epic charting system experience. 13-week assignment, 3x12 hour days, on-call duties, and travel-friendly terms including housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• 3 years minimum OR circulator experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Conscious sedation and circulate/telemetry skills preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:15 AM - 6:45 PM)
• Must be highly proficient in general, robotics, GU/GYN, and colorectal surgical specialties
• On-call required as part of the back-up call team
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week assignment length
• Function as part of the back-up call team supporting surgical procedures across multiple specialties
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility emergency events, requiring on-site presence until the event concludes or relief arrives
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start contract (Charge RNs not acceptable)
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
• Former Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a full year of separation before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be listed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
