Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room Float Pool in a large Level 1 trauma hospital. The position requires a minimum of 2 years circulating experience and prior travel nursing. You will rotate through a busy OR with 12-hour days and a 36-hour week, handling diverse case types and adult patients only.

Active RN licensure (TN or compact) and BLS are required. Scrub experience is not required, and candidates from local 75-mile radius may be considered at a reduced

Responsibilities

• Float pool RN in a 1000+ bed Level 1 trauma hospital.
• Cover ORs with a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms.
• Care for adult patients across multiple service lines; exclude cardiac, transplant, trauma/neuro.
• Perform OR circulating duties in neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant, robotic cases; assist in hybrid rooms.
• Work 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week; days vary by unit needs.
• May float between ORs but not between facility locations; limited time off; possible Holiday shifts.
• Interview process includes IVS screening and hiring manager interview.

Responsibilities

• OR Float Pool position in a 1000+ bed Level 1 trauma hospital
• Facility has a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
• Patient population includes all service lines except cardiac, transplant, and trauma/neuro
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week
• Days of the week worked will vary based on unit needs; no block schedule available
• Late stay requirement up to four times during a 13-week period
• May float between operating rooms but not between facility locations
• Interview process includes IVS screening followed by hiring manager interview
• Limited time off approved; must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
