Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular OR position requiring 3+ years CVOR experience and prior travel nursing experience. The role includes a 13-week day shift contract and a weekend call rotation, with on-call requirements and strict orientation tests.

Active IL RN license and BLS are required, along with Epic EMR experience. Travel experience is essential, with a preference for open heart scrub/circulate skills and multiple references.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross only.
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience with vascular case experience required.
• Scrub and circulate open heart experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required with a minimum of 1 completed travel assignment.
• 2 professional references required, with 1 reference mandatory from the most recent travel assignment.
• Date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Cardiovascular Operating Room setting handling cardiac open heart, vascular, and endovascular cases.
• 13-week contract on day shift, Monday-Friday 0600-1430.
• Call only rotation required for weekends.
• On-call requirements of 6-8 days per month, must be within 30 minutes of the hospital with no sleep room available.
• No floating required.
• Must work at least 1-2 holidays during the contract, including one winter holiday on call only.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate within a 50-mile radius.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be away for 12 months before being considered as a travelers.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for this 13-week contract.
• Onsite EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation on a pass/fail basis; failure results in contract termination.
• Relias EKG test with a minimum score of 80% required prior to consideration if applying to Highland Park, Evanston, Glenbrook, Northwest Community, or Skokie locations.
