Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with transplant experience for a day-shift travel assignment in Louisiana.

The role requires active LA RN license, BLS, and at least 2 years of transplant OR experience, plus general OR skills to support float coverage. On-call is required including one holiday. Epic EMR experience is essential, with robotics familiarity a bonus.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of transplant OR experience required.
• General OR experience to support floating assignments.
• Travel experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Two recent manager references required.

Responsibilities

• Operate in the OR unit setting.
• Work day shift: 5x8 hours, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM.
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio.
• Float to main OR when no transplant surgeries are scheduled.
• On-call including at least one holiday during assignment.
• Use Epic EMR for perioperative nursing care.
• Provide perioperative nursing care for transplant surgeries (kidney, liver, pancreas).
• Float to general OR for gynecology, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and other surgeries.
• Experience with robotic systems is a plus.
• Maintain infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol.

• BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of transplant OR experience required
• General OR experience also required to support floating assignments
• Previous travel experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Two recent manager references required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit setting
• Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Float to main OR required when no transplant surgeries are scheduled
• On-call required, including holiday call for at least one holiday during the assignment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide perioperative nursing care for transplant surgeries including kidney, liver, pancreas, and organ donation procedures
• Float to general OR for gynecology, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and other surgical specialties as needed
• Experience with robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci and Mako is a plus
• Maintain infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol standards
• Pre-start facility education modules required and completed prior to assignment start
• Does not accept first-time travelers
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement
