Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit in the San Francisco Bay Area. CA licensure and specialized transplant experience are required to join a team caring for liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant patients.

Day shift 3x12s (0700–1930) with every-other-weekend work; travel candidates welcome with local rate for nearby residents and housing/benefits. Strong cardiac, respiratory, IV, isolation, and PPE skills are essential for this assignment.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Transplant experience required (liver, kidney, pancreas).
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• IV therapy and peripheral line care experience.
• Respiratory care skills (nasal cannula, oxygen).
• Feeding tube care/management.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE.
• Two supervisor references within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases, including transplant patients.
• Serve as med-surg/tele overflow unit for complex GI cases.
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 0700–1930.
• Work every other weekend; float to other units as needed.
• Provide direct transplant and complex GI patient care in med-surg/tele.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for cardiac/respiratory needs.
• Residents within 50 miles receive local rate; local candidates preferred.
• Returning staff/travelers require 1-year separation before reapplying.
• Max RTO of 7 days; limited holiday time off per contract.
• Complete lab work within 3–5 days of contract signing.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role.

• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Unit specializes in caring for patients with liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases, including transplant recipients
• Serves as a med-surg/tele overflow unit for complex gastrointestinal disorders
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Requires working every other weekend
• Floating to other units as needed
• Provide direct patient care to transplant and complex GI patients within a med-surg/tele setting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in managing complex cardiac and respiratory needs
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, including New Year\'s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
