Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an OR Registered Nurse with 2+ years of OR service line experience for a 13-week assignment in Texas. The role requires an active TX license and BLS certification, with craniotomy/burr hole experience as a must.

Other qualifications include neurology, trauma, orthopedics, general surgery, and robotics exposure, with travel and housing benefits. Responsibilities include Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics coverage, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM days, and potential call,

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR service line experience required.
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with a range of surgical procedures including trauma, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit covering Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma surgical services.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:30 AM-3:00 PM), Monday through Friday.
• Call and late days required as needed.
• May be required to float to another campus or acceptable unit.
• 1:1 patient ratio.
• Allscripts charting system experience preferred.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and any positive result results in automatic cancellation.
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen.
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan.
• Non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours are completed during orientation.
• RN/LVN candidates must reside within 150 miles of the facility.
• Local candidates are not accepted.
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler.
• Travel experience preferred but not required.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
