Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment with call rotation and multi-specialty surgical experience.

You will work in the operating room across multiple suites, cover Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU, adhere to Paragon EMR, and participate in a rotating call schedule. Ideal candidates have MI RN license, BLS, 2+ years' OR experience in General, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, Cardiology, and readiness for STAT incisions.

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
• Experience in General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology surgical specialties required.
• Experience in Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU required.
• Must be ready to make incision within 30 minutes or less for STAT cases.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in the Operating Room department.
• 4 suites with 3 run concurrently, averaging 9 cases per day.
• RNs also cover Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU areas.
• Common cases include General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology (pacemakers, lead revisions, etc).
• Uses Paragon EMR system.
• Day shifts, 8 hours, beginning between 0545 and 0900.
• Call required, rotated among trained RNs, approximately 5 days per month.
• Weekday call runs from 1430 to 0630; weekend call runs from Friday 1430 to Monday 0630
• Holiday call rotation participation required.
• Floating required to cover Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU
• Provide perioperative nursing care across OR, Pre-surgery/PATT, and PACU areas
• One week of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
• Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced pay rate
• Former Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
