Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in Florida. The role requires 2+ years of OR experience and Cerner EMR proficiency, with active FL (or Compact) RN licensure and BLS/ACLS/PALS current.

Responsibilities include hospital-based OR coverage for multiple service lines, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM shifts (4x10s), and call/holiday coverage. Travel within campuses and strict rules on prior CHS employment apply.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required, none expiring within 30 days of start.
• 2+ years of recent OR experience required.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• AHCA fingerprinting clearance required prior to start.
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Operating Room unit.
• Service lines include General, Urology, Spine, GYN, Ortho, Plastics, Breasts, and Robotics surgeries.
• Day shift schedule (4x10s), 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Call and holiday coverage required.
• Float between campuses as needed.
• Serve as a key member of the surgical team, working alongside Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and ORTs to deliver patient care per AORN and regulatory standards.
• Responsibilities include ensuring supply readiness, timeliness of cases, communicating with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing in and assisting during surgical cases, and supervising personnel.
• Requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning patient care.
• Local candidates will not be considered; a 50-mile radius rule applies.
• RTO requests must be less than one week.
• Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered.
