Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong ortho experience for a 12-hour day shift contract in Florida. You will work in an OR unit setting, with shifts on Mon, Thu, and Fri, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, and occasional floating to sister campuses.

A valid FL or compact RN license is required. You must have 2 years of OR RN experience, orthopedic expertise, BLS/ACLS, and nursing accreditation or 5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Active FL or compact RN license verifiable through Nursys
• 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing degree accreditation documented, or 5 years of experience in lieu of accreditation documentation
• Driver's license address must match address on file with the Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit setting
• 12-hour day shifts on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30A to 7P
• Call required
• Floating required to other operating rooms at sister campuses, with travelers prioritized for floating
• EMR system used is Epic
• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility, strictly enforced
• Candidates must not own or cosign on property within the 50 mile radius
• Candidates commuting from the east coast of Florida or planning to travel home between shifts are discouraged, as full-time local housing is expected
• Orientation begins on a Friday and includes remote orientation plus an in-person visit for badge and ID
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to starting the assignment and cannot be added afterward
• No block scheduling requests accommodated
• Candidates must be flexible and team-oriented, as this is a priority for the facility
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
