Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for an Operating Room role in Virginia. Requires VA or compact license, BLS/ACLS/HWC/NIHSS, and ortho experience. 1–2 years RN experience; 2+ years in specialty preferred. Travel rate applies for candidates residing 60 miles or more from the facility.

Shifts include two 12-hour and two 8-hour days, with weekend call and occasional overnight weekday call. Benefits include insurance, housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and more.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (VA or compact) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC), and NIHSS
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Ortho experience required
• 2+ years of clinical experience in area of specialty preferred
• Must consent to random drug screening and complete a criminal questionnaire/consent form

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room/Surgery department of an academic community hospital
• Comprehensive surgical services including a day surgery center and 2 cath labs
• Patient population includes all ages
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Meditech EHR
• Rotating shifts including two 12-hour and two 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend work required or as needed
• Call rotation required, primarily weekends, with occasional overnight weekday call possible
• May be asked to float within scope of practice
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical cases
• Facility is a 250-bed academic community hospital with chest pain and stroke center accreditations
• Navy blue scrubs provided by the hospital
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Motivated, proactive, and easygoing candidates preferred
